Tara Rooks has been involved in the dance world her whole life. Growing up in the competitive dance world, she trained with studios in Atlanta and South Carolina. Tara is a 2019 graduate from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Choreography and Performance. During her time at UNCG she trained with Duane Cyrus, Janet Lilly, Michael Job, Maurice Watson, and others, as well as performing works by Martha Graham and Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane. In 2018 she joined Theatre West Virginia performing in “Paradise Park” and “Hatfield’s and McCoy’s”. Upon graduation from UNCG, Tara spent the past year in Australia teaching dance and acrobatics. This is Tara’s first year with Extravadance and she is excited to share her passion of dance with her students.
